About Go Active Tours

From the very start, the idea behind Go Active Tours has been to encourage people to
visit new places, create interesting experiences and make new friends and memories.
Whether you are travelling solo or in a group, our tour operators offer a wide range
of activity holidays for everyone to enjoy.

We were inspired by the success of the director’s personal travels around the globe and by his own Outdoor Activity Centre that nestles in the lakes and mountains of County Kerry in Ireland were families and groups have experienced the wonderful natural amenities and enjoyed both active and cultural pursuits for a number of years. Some of the photos shown on our site are from happy holiday makers who stayed at the Lodge.

At Go Active Tours, we recognise that one person’s ideal activity holiday may be very different from another’s. We strive to encourage all our clients to develop and exercise their own individual skills and abilities and to have a great time of course. We hope that your holiday booked through us will be an enriching experience which can be retained for a long time after the actual journey.

The Go Active Tours Difference

Travelling with Go Active Tours means you can either form your own group or travel individually, in which case our tour operators will welcome you into a small group of fellow travellers. You can choose from the range of set tours offered by our tour operators and we will work with them to find the best option for you.

We understand that everyone has different levels of ability and experience. To assist you in your choice of tours, we have place our ‘Activity Meters’ on each page.
These give you an idea of how challenging a particular tour is.
An example is shown below:

By informing us beforehand of your ability levels and goals when booking, we will work with our tour operators to ensure that you receive the right amount of personal support so that you will enjoy your tour booked via
Go Active Tours from day one!

The People At Go Active Tours

The founding of Go Active Tours started with Ian Forrester. The entrepreneur, philanthropist and adventure seeker is the inspiration behind Go Active Tours. He was seeking to share his broad and extraordinary experiences he made while travelling the world and gathering a whole variety of special memories of adventures and encounters. The idea was to set up a small select operation which would offer trips to all the beautiful places around the world that he himself had so much cherished. This is how the destinations that you can travel to with Go Active Tours were selected – handpicked by the founder and owner himself.

Go Active Tours is working with a small and dedicated team, some of them situated in the United Kingdom and the rest of them being spread around the globe – right where the different tours and activities take place. Local knowledge is as important to Ian and the Go Active Tours Team as are sustainability and responsible travelling.

Check Out What Our Customers Have To Say

Have a look at what some of our happy customers have to say about Go Active Tours in our Testimonials.

Go Active Tours' Responsibilities

Our two main responsibilities are to our clients and to the environment. We certainly want you to have a pleasant and safe holiday and we believe in practising responsible tourism and protecting resources.
Go Active Tours’ Green Policy is a direct result of that belief and company strategy.

We have strict policies on water usage. We support local industry and craftsmen. We also source our food and supplies from local producers and growers. We are not perfect and we certainly aren’t fanatics, but we do try to give back to the local community and environment as well as take. When booking a tour via Go Active Tours, you are more than welcome to participate in sustainable tourism.

Another aspect of Go Active Tours’ policy is donating to various local projects. In other words – you book with us and you help support projects in African Townships or the Human-Elephant Confilict Programme in Sri Lanka or other social/environmental projects. This is done through Ian’s charity – “The Forrester Foundation”.
